System purpose
AFTN working position “MONITOR-3” is intended to provide airlines with possibility to make information exchange via telegraph network AFTN. ARM automates telegraph operator’s actions on receiving and transmitting telegraph messages in coding MTK-2 and MTK-5, and also allows to organize archives of inbox and outbox telegrams in magnetic storages with wide possibilities searching in them.
ARM automatically supports telegraph protocol AFTN, reliving the operator from necessity to receive and transfer service telegrams (type telegrams “CH”, “SZhC” etc.) that comprises up to the half of the total volume of all the telegraph messages.
System software
Software ARM is designed to work in all Operational Systems Windows, that gives comfortable User Interface, and the most important thing is that it allows to use ARM on the same computer simultaneously with the work of other application programs, for example programs of navigational calculation – to switch quickly from one of the programs to another, to make data exchange among the programs etc. It is not necessary to provide a separate computer for ARM, as operational system Windows allows the user to use the computer for any other purposes while software ARM operation (telegrams receiving and transmitting).
-
Exchange through consecutive interface RS-232 (COM-port), that allows to connect the computer to any standard telegraph channel by telegraph adapter that secures hardware control over the condition of the communication link.
-
Exchange with CKS “MONITOR” through the file network (for example through the network Novell).
-
Exchange with CKS “MONITOR” using TCP/IP by modem (connection of Point-To-Point type) or network Inranet/Internet. This exchange mode gives wide possibilities, for example it allows the user when he is at any place on the Earth and has Internet access he can receive or transmit telegrams by CKS “MONITOR”, that is located for example in Moscow.
Telegram exchange
During its work ARM creates archives of inbox and outbox telegrams, securing at that data integrity in them (data recovery at computer failure etc.). When working with ARM you can easily look through archives for different dates, make different types of automatic search for necessary telegrams in the archive for the date required or in date range. Archive are organized in the form of data base in a widely spread format DBF, that allows to use the most of existing DBMS for information processing, accumulated in archives – i.e. reports forming, orders issuing etc.
To simplify the process of telegram generationr ARM has a mechanism of telegram templates (drafts) that are kept in a special data base. User can bring under often used telegram drafts into the data base, so that in case of necessity of such a telegram transmitting not to retype it over again but to edit the existing draft.
ARM allows to keep an address book, in that every address can be associated with its comprehend interpretation, i.e. to create an electronic reference book.
PC IBM-PC 386 and later versions with any CS Windows installed is necessary for ARM “MONITOR-3” operation.
“Monitor Soft” Ltd. is ready to provide AFTN working position “MONITOR-3” itself and additional information about it for test operation to all interested recipients of air navigation information (such as airlines, airports and regional governments).
