AI management system

"Monitor-AIXM" is intended for collecting, transmiting, handling, storing and distribution of aeronautical information.

AI management system consists of a server and working stations joint into the local network. Database and a dedicated software module enables database operation and interaction with the other systems are installed on the server side. AI is operated from a user’s working positions.


Database is the key element of AI management system. It stipulates for storage of AI information and ancillary data necessary for system operation. Database tables’ structure provides for integrity of stored information.
Database is fully compatible with AIXM 5.1 standard of aeronautical information exchange and ensures storage of entire AI set included into the standard. A list of a format of admissible values of AI objects’ properties in table fields are fully corresponding to AIXM 5.1 models classes. Database structure supports a temporality model and the other peculiarities of AIXM 5.1 format. Database can easily be extended for storage of additional parameters taking AIXM 5.1 requirements into account.
Temporality model is supported at account of storage of the all basic terms and changes in the separate rows of database tables. This mechanism allows to receive information about AI objects properties in any time slot. A dedicated process supervises a status of the records containing changes and generates the new baseline records in the moment when a change comes into force, and transfers out-of-date changes into an archive base. Use of the temporality model stipulates for storage of static and dynamic data.
Database contains metadata with information about AI content and each property type. Besides, AI view and access rights are also stored in the database. This allows to create the universal automated applications for information input and output.

Database Content Management

Database configuring is done via database content management system. This application makes it possible to adjust AI content required for use in a particular system. The management system saves information about data content in database metadata section and automatically generates database tables, sets the necessary limits and referenses among the tables for AI storage.
Database configuring is done in accordance with AIXM 5.1 standard. Data content can be extended through adding of the new data types, additional values, extra data classes’ attributes and new data classes in accordance with the standard requirements. All new parameters and classes are marked as AIXM 5.1 standard extension and hence support temporality model and the other standard’s peculiarities.
Data content management software includes two modules, i.e. a module of data types setting and a module of data classes setting. A module of data types settings allows to create and change data types used for AI classes. The system supports the following data types: integral, decimal, string, binary and enumerated types. A range of values can be defined for numeric types, samples – for string types, a list of possible values – for enumerated types. A list of admissible units of measurement and formulas of their conversion can be also declared for numeric types. A module of data classes settings provides a possibility to configure the data classes in accordance with AIXM 5.1 standard, i.e. selection of data class stereotype, definition of the basic class in case of necessity, determination of properties and associations.

Data View Administration

AI access and view setup is done through a system of data view administration. This system enables to create AI hierarchical structure which is suitable for solving the dedicated tasks. Therefore the system supports a principal “one model – some interfaces”. These different representations can be used by both separate operators (in this case their access to AI is differentiated) and by a single operator for solving various tasks that increases flexibility and usability of the system.
While configuring the data interface, data types are selected and the rules of particular objects nesting are defined. As result, a tree of nested catalogs, each of which contains AI objects in accordance with defined type and restrictions, are generated. Besides, access rights to particular catalogs’ objects and their properties are also defined while configuring interfaces.

Data Managment

Data management system enables to view and edit AI in accordance with the selected view. The system provides for showing all the records containing all the changes of AI object’s properties as well as displaying several sets of values at once in order to compare them.
A user of this system can generate the projects of AI changes. It supports the mechanisms of commiting of the projects, their approval or declining, changes publication.
Data can be loaded manually or from a file in AIXM 5.1 format. In case of necessity a user can download data from a database to AIXM 5.1-format file.

Multy-System Network

Systems of AI managment can be merged into a network forming multi-node complex each element of which has its own database and can operate independently. Joining the system into a network also allows creating the multi-layer AI processing complex enabling management of AI business processes. SSL protocol with embedded mechanisms of encryption and identification of users’ authenticity are used for data transfer among the systems. Use of this protocol also stipulates for safety and reliability of data transfer among the system connected to a public network.
AI management system can also interact with the system of the off-site designers transferring and accepting data in AIXM 5.1 format.

Information stored in the system can be submitted to a user as a set of sequential changes or as a snapshot for a particular time moment in AIXM 5.1 format. Besides the system allows issuing aeronautical information publications based on the information stored in the database.
